Nederland, Arnhem, 2-1-2015De trappen in het trappenhuis van de HBS waar M.C. Escher naar school ging vormeden een inspiratie voor zijn latere werk. De school, een rijksmonument met invloeden van Berlage, het Rationalisme en Art Nouveau, bevat een trappenhuis dat een opvallende gelijkenis vertoont met de prenten met trappen en labyrinten die Escher maakte. Ook de pseudo-romaanse doorgangen en de wit betegelde muren zijnn hier onderdeel van. Het gebouw is nu bewoond en niet toegangkelijk voor publiek.The stairs in the stairwell of the school where artist MC Escher went to school formed an inspiration for his later work. The school, a national monument influenced by Berlage, Rationalism and Art Nouveau, includes a staircase that bears a striking resemblance to the prints made with stairs and labyrinths by Escher.
